Chinese is our mother tongue and I agree we of course must learn Chinese. But my friends, please also try to understand English is "international" and it can bring us into other part of the world. If we want to make Chinese strong, we should walk out of our land and compete in the international market. To do that, we need to also learn English. Don't you agree with me?

arh... Singapore is using simplified Chinese...not traditional type....but you are right, i do not know the rules of pronunciation...we study in school....but i have forgotten....so, even with software helping...i still cannot type chinese...but i definitely can speak, read and write Chinese!!!
